In the Sacrament of Holy Orders, or Ordination, the priest being ordained vows to lead other Catholics by bringing them the sacraments (especially the Eucharist), by proclaiming the Gospel, and by providing other means to holiness.

What to Expect:

  • Spiritual Growth: Attend Mass, Confession, and pray regularly; may include a retreat.
  • Service: Do community service to live out the faith.
  • Sponsor & Saint: Pick a Catholic sponsor and a Confirmation saint (like St. Francis de Sales).
  • Requirements: May include a letter, interview, or proof of Baptism/First Communion.
